Due to the escalation of the conflict in the Donbas Poroshenko calls for new EU sanctions against Russia

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with the foreign Minister of Germany Sigmar Gabriel.

This is stated on the website of the President.

“The parties discussed the worsening situation in the vicinity of the Town caused by shelling by Russian militants,” – stated in the message.

The President of Ukraine stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia and their reinforcement.

The head of state stressed that the militants provoked a new escalation of violence in the Donbas, the recognition of the documents of the so-called “LNR” and “DNR”, the assignment of Ukrainian companies is another evidence of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and requires the application of new sanctions tools on the part of the EU.
