STAND for Ukraine: the U.S. Congress will soon consider the bill on support of Ukraine
For the consideration of the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress introduced a bill “On support of stability and democracy in Ukraine, “or STAND for Ukraine.

In the previous convocation of the Congress, a similar bill did not have time to vote, so with the new year the process starts from the beginning.
The bill STAND for Ukraine prohibits U.S. recognition of the annexation of Crimea by Russia, including printing cards, where the Peninsula effect Russian. Also the draft law “On support of stability and democracy in Ukraine” gives the status of law to the sanctions imposed by presidential decree for the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine and attempted annexation of Crimea.
It gives the President the authority to impose new sanctions against persons involved in violation of human rights in the territories occupied or controlled by Russia, and requires the US President to influence NATO to the fact that no one country of the Alliance did not give the items of a defensive nature or services in Russia as long as it holds part of the territory of Ukraine.
Recall that the previous bill was in April of last year, had bipartisan support. 19 Republicans and 18 Democrats have affixed their signatures. However, the Senate did not have time before Christmas break to put it to a vote. Against the bill were lobbied by oil giant ExxonMobil, the former Chairman of which Rex Tillerson, now heads the U.S. Department of State.
