By the end of this year in the capital at the Paton bridge is planned to install Road Zipper system that will ensure efficient traffic flow and reduce congestion. About this informed the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv city state administration Ilya Sagaidak on his page in Facebook.
“Until the end of the year at the Paton bridge will introduce a system of Road Zipper to secure the reverse,” he wrote.

It is noted that the Road Zipper system that will be introduced at the Paton bridge and the prospect of Unification, consists of a barrier (connected sections, each of which weighs more than 450 kg) and a special machine that is able to change the position of a mobile chipper.
The design features of the Road Zipper ensure the safety of traffic on the road and at the same time the flexibility of the barrier. In this case, the operation of the machine is carried out without traffic. Practically, this means that the morning will be added one or two bands towards the center, and in the evening in the opposite direction.
According to Management, the implementation of a Road Zipper system will save 348 to 736 million UAH of transport costs for the year.
In addition, this innovation will allow to reduce harmful CO2 emissions into the air of the city on 4993 kg.
