Tillerson reiterated the US commitment to Ukraine and assured the continuation of sanctions against Russia

The United States will leave in action its sanctions against Russia, until Russia cease its occupation of all parts of Ukraine.

This was stated by the acting representative of US State Department mark Toner, says UKRINFORM.

“The sanctions will remain until such time as Russia does not comply with (their obligations – Ed.) regarding Eastern Ukraine and Crimea”, – said Toner.

According to him, this issue was raised during a meeting of foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson.

“During the conversation was primarily about domestic issues, but also about our concerns about compliance with the Minsk agreements. They also talked about the reforms conducted by the government of Ukraine,” – said Toner.

“Secretary Tillerson reiterated the US commitment to Ukraine and our promise to make all of the parties, including the Russian Federation, fulfillment of obligations in accordance with the Minsk agreements,” concluded Toner.
