According to lawyer and human rights activist Arina Boyko, at the hearing the representative of the Ministry of justice stated that they have not only urban, but also a project for the construction of the jail.
“For this project, the Ministry of justice roughly in 2012 paid a half million hryvnias. We asked whether there had been discussion with the residents and public hearings regarding these documents. The representative of the Ministry of justice clearly stated that public hearings that are mandatory by law, were not conducted on this issue “, – said the lawyer.
“The Ministry of justice considers that the jail in Kotsyubinskoe will be placed outside the settlement. But in fact, it offers to place the jail in the center at kotsyubyns’kogo village Council, among the houses. We can say that the jail will be placed in the yard of a newly built multi-storey buildings. Some residents have time to register and to issue the property right. Despite this, our village head Olga Matyushina took a unilateral decision about what to participate in public hearings only those who are registered in Kotsyubinskoye.
