The United States ignored requests by the Ukrainian prosecutors regarding the questioning of Manafort – CNN

Ukrainian prosecutors want to question Paul Manafort in connection with the investigation of corruption and has repeatedly requested assistance from U.S. authorities, CNN reports.

Prosecutors in Kiev said that over the last two years they made seven separate requests for help in questioning former campaign Manager of President Donald trump and former adviser to Viktor Yanukovych, including writing letters to the Director of the FBI James Comey and members of the U.S. Department of justice. Ukrainian officials said that the United States has not responded to these requests.

Under the Treaty on “mutual legal assistance”, the two countries agreed to regularly to help each other in law enforcement efforts, such as gathering statements and other evidence for prosecution.
