President Petro Poroshenko instructed to ensure legal protection to the Chairman of the High Council of justice Igor Benedick.

“I made the decision to at least at the time of the competition, the Chairman of the High Council of justice to provide state protection. This is my position as President, which should ensure the independence in the formation of the Supreme court,” – said the Head of state.
In turn, Benedick noted the importance of ensuring the security of judges.
According to him, the High Council of justice has already received more than 80 complaints about attacks on judges, including directly in a court hall.
“If the courts are not protected, then you can forget about independence. I appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers to expedite consideration of regulations that will provide adequate protection for the courts, and to resolve this issue as soon as possible”, – said Poroshenko.
