Klimkin explained why Poroshenko has still not met with trump
Date of the meeting of the presidents of the United States Donald trump and Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is still not defined. It will take place only after the preparation of issues and coordination.
In an interview with LIGA.net said the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and assured that now we are seriously preparing for the meeting.
“No, she is not delayed. Just have to be sense and logic arrangements. In addition, on a number of issues the us administration is in a state of formation. And what is happening today, deserves not a superficial approach, but a very delicate and profound consideration. Therefore, this meeting should be well prepared,” – said Klimkin.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine has visited the United States, where he held meetings in the state Department and the national security Council, where “not all assignments carried out.”
“When we were ready – we will work on details of a personal meeting of the two presidents. Meeting summary preparation. And all this is the result of serious work”, – said Klimkin.
Both the President twice talked on the phone.
“If to speak about contacts, the President twice spoke with trump. The first conversation of the President was both congratulatory and informative. But the second conversation was really deep in content. Trump was prepared. He did not read any theses, which he prepared assistants. It was a lively conversation, he was asked, listened attentively. It was important,” – said Klimkin.
Also had a meeting with the Vice-President of the United States.
“We’re really at a very granular level serious talk. I mean, I think that the question is not a formal date, and depth contacts. Now we come to the opportunity to meet with the most profound sense and real returns”, – concluded the Minister.
