SBU will protect Ponomarev and the victim’s wife Boronenkov
Wife of assassinated ex-Deputy of the state Duma Denis Boronenkov and the second witness in the case Yanukovych Ilya Ponomarev will guard the SBU.
This was stated by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko at a briefing today, March 23.

“Now the investigator questioned the victim’s wife. After the press conference, Mr. Ponomarev has already decided on the protection and Ponomareva, Maria Maksakova forces special forces of the SBU. Of course, these forces will be increased compared to what it was,” – said Lutsenko.
We will remind, on March 23 around 11:30 at the intersection of Taras Shevchenko Boulevard and Pushkinskaya street in Kiev shooting occurred.
Previously it is established that a man with a security guard came out of the hotel: the unknown opened fire. In the shooting was killed a former Deputy of the state Duma Denis Voronenkov. The attacker also wounded the security guard ex-politician, however, he had shot and wounded the killer. Both wounded are in the hospital.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the murder traced the trail of the Russian special services, and the incident was called “an act of state terrorism by Russia”.
