“KGB-style”. McCain called the killing Boronenkov brazen act of state terrorism Russia

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Affairs of Armed forces of the United States John McCain called murder in the center of Kyiv former Deputy of the state Duma of the Russian Federation Denis Boronenkov “blatant act of state terrorism of Russia”.

This is stated in his statement on the personal website.

McCain noted that “there was another blatant act of Russian state terrorism, when a former Russian MP Denis Voronenkov was killed in broad daylight on the streets of Kiev.”

“This heinous crime marks the continuation of the brutal campaign of KGB-style, designed to intimidate all who dare to oppose the tyranny of Vladimir Putin,” said McCain.

In his statement, McCain also noted that Voronenkov spoke out against “Putin’s rule of terror and his illegal invasion and annexation of Crimea.”

Also, added the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the armed forces, who was killed by the ex-Deputy of the state Duma earlier helped the Ukrainian office of public Prosecutor in the case, which concerned treason of former President Viktor Yanukovych.

Previously it is established that a man with a security guard came out of the hotel: the unknown opened fire. In the shooting was killed a former Deputy of the state Duma Denis Voronenkov. The attacker also wounded the security guard ex-politician, however, he managed to shoot back and wounded the killer.

The killer later died in hospital. According to people’s Deputy Anton Gerashchenko, the killer was an agent of the Russian special services, implemented in the Ukrainian power structures.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the murder traced the trail of the Russian special services, and the incident was called “an act of state terrorism by Russia”.
