Pressure on the Kremlin and strengthening of sanctions. Poroshenko with ambassadors of the G7 discussed the escalation in the Donbas

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held his first meeting with the ambassadors of the countries “Big seven” and the European Union.

This is stated on the website of the President.

It is noted that Poroshenko praised the solidarity and unity of the countries “Big seven” with Ukraine in supporting the implementation of internal reforms and counter Russian aggression.

In turn, special attention was paid to the worsening situation in the Donbass. It is reported that it was decided to continue the pressure on the Russian authorities to return the situation into the framework of the Minsk agreements, including through the preservation and, if necessary, strengthening of international sanctions against Russia.

“The parties discussed the decision of the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine in the part of the temporary interruption of the movement of goods between Ukraine and uncontrolled territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The ambassadors expressed their appreciation of resorting to such steps of the Ukrainian authorities, given the illegal expropriation of Ukrainian property and the irresponsible actions of some political forces regarding the unauthorized and ill-considered so-called blockade of railway tracks in Donbas”, – stated in the message.

The sides coordinated further way of providing comprehensive support of Ukraine from the “Big seven” and the European Union in the implementation of reforms.

Recall President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on amendments to article 3 of the Law of Ukraine “On corruption prevention” (No. 6172). In connection with the new revisions, some categories of military personnel are exempt from the requirement to provide statements about income, but to file e-Declaration now required of all representatives of public organizations.
