The Director of the National anti-corruption Bureau Artem Sytnik told about the real causes of the scandal with the election of the auditor of the Bureau.
He said this in an interview to Hromadske, the text of which is published on the website of the Bureau.
“NABOO is not a political player, and not a party to any conflict. But, in my opinion, not as a Director, as a citizen, the reason was the fact that there were open competition in the anti-corruption Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on the election of a candidate for auditors of the Parliament,” he said.
According to Sytnik, the Commission of external control should work in NEB every year and it consists of three candidates, from Parliament, from the President and from the government.
“Anti-corruption Committee held a contest, picked a candidate and recommended to the Parliament to vote for it. But on February 23 I went for anyone not familiar. From the outside it looked very opaque and unfair, I don’t know what better word to choose. In fact, it’s more “like” a farce,” said he.
He added that he does not have in mind the candidacy of brown, and that in an opaque method attempts to appoint him from the Parliament.
“Two questions arise: why, then, was held the competition, and how it was possible to examine the candidate in respect of which the voting has started literally 5 minutes after he went into the parliamentary hall. I think that’s what is causing those hot disputes, which occur in the future”, – said the head of NABOO.
Sytnik said that inspections is not afraid and does not know when the audit will commence and when completed.

Brown’s opponents say that with his help they want to replace him as Chairman of the NAB Artem Sytnik. Those who voted “for,” say the two approved candidates, except for the brown, and even the inspector General of the justice Department Robert Storch, which actually acts Sobolev.
It is noteworthy that the Pro-presidential faction “BPP” stands for the candidature of Nigel brown.
On March 21, Parliament once again failed to elect the auditor of NABOOfrom the two candidates – Robert Storch and Nigel brown. In ranked voting, which gives a chance to vote for the appointment, was won by the Nigel brown. But voting for the appointment votes for him is not enough – only 200 for it.
