The Hungarian Prime Minister proposed to legalize dual citizenship for ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine – media

The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban during a meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposed to conclude a bilateral agreement on dual citizenship for ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine.

It is reported by the Hungarian edition of Hungary Today.

Note that the meeting was held in the framework of participation in the enlarged summit of the European people’s party in Malta.

“Orban and Poroshenko discussed the possibility of signing a bilateral agreement in the issue of double citizenship”, — is spoken in the message of the Hungarian edition.

Also reported that the Hungarian Prime Minister has assured Poroshenko in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Orban said Hungary’s attitude to cooperate with Ukraine in energy issues, which also includes the total resistance to the implementation of the project “Northern stream – 2”.

We will remind, today, on 30 March in the framework of participation in the enlarged summit of the European people’s party in Malta, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the meeting expressed concern about the statements of the Hungarian politicians about the creation of a separate territorial autonomy.
