It is noted that in accordance with the universal Declaration of human rights and the International Covenant on civil and political rights, Belarus should be the guarantor of the realization of the right to free and unhindered expression of views, including in the form of peaceful Assembly.

“Belarus should respect fundamental principles and commitments undertaken in the OSCE framework, including on the provisions of the Document of the Copenhagen meeting of the conference on the human dimension”, – said the parliamentarian.

The MPs also stressed that detention of peaceful demonstrators is unjustifiable and thus violated the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual.
