Ukraine and Canada signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of defense

In Ottawa, the Ministers of defence of Ukraine and Canada Stepan Poltorak and Harjit Sajan signed an agreement on cooperation in the defense sphere.

This was reported on the website of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada.

The signing of the agreement took place in the framework of broader negotiations between the defense ministries of Ukraine and Canada who are in Ottawa. The agreement should secure the military partnership between the two countries and to create legislative field for closer cooperation between the armies.

According to the Ambassador of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko, the agreement identifies five priority areas of cooperation: defence research, development and production; material security; logistics; defence policy; military education.

In March, Canada has extended to 2019 the military training mission UNIFIER of about 200 canadian military. Canada has consistently supported the policy of sanctions and international pressure on Russia since the beginning of armed aggression.
