The validity of sanctions against Russia linked to the implementation of the Minsk agreements – G7
The validity of the sanctions against Russia are clearly associated with full implementation of Russian commitments under the Minsk agreements and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
This is stated in the joint statement of Ministers of foreign Affairs of the countries “Big seven”, writes UKRINFORM.
“We recall that the duration of the sanctions will be clearly tied to the full implementation by Russia of its commitments regarding the Minsk agreements and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty,” – said in a statement.
Countries “Big seven” stressed the need for the withdrawal of foreign armed forces and equipment from Ukrainian territory, returning to Ukraine border control and secure access and provision of humanitarian assistance.
“We recognize the responsibility of Russia in the conflict in Ukraine and underline the key role in restoring peace and stability in the country by taking all necessary steps to improve the situation. Russia’s behavior is not consistent with the rules of the international order that we are ready to protect and defend,” – said in a statement.
Countries “Big seven” also confirmed the non-recognition and condemnation of the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia.
