The leaders of the “channel four” discussed by telephone the situation in the Donbass

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed by telephone the situation in the Donbass.

The leaders of the “Normandy Quartet” reaffirmed their commitment to the Minsk agreements, and welcomed the agreement on the resumption of an Easter truce in the area ATO.

Politicians urged to intensify the exchange of prisoners by the formula “all for all” and expressed regret in connection with cases of threats against observers of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE.

French President Francois Hollande expressed his gratitude for his efforts in the framework of the “channel four”.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said earlier that the meeting of leaders “Norman Quartet” – the presidents of Ukraine, France and Russia, as well as the Chancellor of Germany could take place only under condition of achieving progress in the issue of further settlement of the situation in the Donbass. According to Klimkin, to meet at any level is only when there is real peace and progress in the issue of release of prisoners.
