NABU explained the reasons for the search in “PrivatBank”
Today, July 6, in the morning in the main office nationalized “PrivatBank” in the river, the employees of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine and Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office launched investigations.
“These actions are carried out within investigation of criminal proceedings on the facts of possible abuse of the official position by officials of the National Bank of Ukraine, and embezzlement of funds of PJSC CB “PrivatBank” in especially large size, perfect management and owners of substantial participation specified banking institutions (part 2 St. 364, part 5 of article 191 UK of Ukraine), resulting in the state suffered losses in the amount of the Bank’s capital increase in the amount of 116.8 billion UAH”, – explained in NABOO.

Meanwhile in a press-service “PrivatBank” reported that went to cooperate with the investigation and provide the necessary documents “on the analysis “toxic portfolio” of loans to the former owners of the Bank.”
“In the framework of criminal proceedings on investigation of facts of illegal granting loans prior to the previous owners and the top managers in the Bank with the NAB planned works are carried out. On the basis of statements of the NBU in relation to the former management of Bank “PrivatBank” with the NEB conducts a thorough analysis of the documents and is ready to fully support the investigation against the former owners and top management,” – noted in the financial institution.
Investigative actions in the Central office of “PrivatBank” will last for several days.
“Except the lawyers NABOO, the work involved also the staff of special forces of NABOO. This is necessary for rapid response in case of receiving information about the presence of persons in respect of whom the criminal proceedings”, – noted in “PrivatBank”.
Earlier , the Prosecutor’s office said the details of the case against the former owners of “PrivatBank”.
