NATO assured that it will continue cooperation with Ukraine in the issues of defense and economic reform
The North Atlantic Treaty organization (NATO) will continue its cooperation with Ukraine in a number of issues.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the opening of the exhibition “Ukraine-NATO. Formula bezopasnosti” in Kiev.
“For two decades of friendship and cooperation between NATO and Ukraine is constantly evolving. Ukraine has been active in support of our common security, taking part in all missions and operations under NATO leadership. You did it despite the numerous challenges that exist at home”, – he stressed.
According to Stoltenberg, in turn, NATO has actively supported the sovereignty, territorial integrity, democratic institutions of Ukraine and its Armed forces.
“NATO will continue to closely cooperate with Ukraine in defense matters, governance and economic reforms that are extremely important for Ukrainian stability, prosperity and development”, – concluded the Secretary General of the Alliance.
Recall that Ukraine will receive from NATO equipment for cyber-security on more than 1 million euros. The leader of the trust Fund on cyber security is Romania, which has already purchased the necessary equipment. The delivery process will take several months.
On 6 July Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning Ukraine’s foreign policy”. According to him, one of the priorities of national interests defined the integration into the Euro-Atlantic space of security , with the aim of gaining membership in NATO.
