The court sanctioned in absentia proceedings against Azarov
The Pechersky regional court of Kiev granted permission to the special investigation concerning former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov. This is reported in the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
They point out that the former official is suspected of embezzlement and misappropriation of state property. In the case of illegal privatization of “Ukrtelecom” also featured Viktor Yanukovych, ex-Minister of Finance Yuriy Kolobov and former first Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Arbuzov.
In may this year, the General Prosecutor of Ukraine has transferred to the Pechersky district court a motion to allow the absentee to start the investigation concerning former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and former Minister of energy and coal industry Eduard Stavitsky.
