Decentralization continues: the CEC election in 49 of the United territorial communities
The CEC appointed local elections in 49 of the United territorial communities on December 24.

“Having considered the appeal of the 17 governors on the appointment of the first local elections in connection with the formation of unified territorial communities, the Commission has established their conformity with the requirements of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine and appointed on Sunday 24 December 2017, elections in 49 of the United territorial communities”, — stated in the message of the Central election Commission.
Elections will be held in 5 urban, 15 rural, 29 United rural territorial communities, which includes 250 local councils.
We will remind that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stressed the importance of continued decentralization in the state, which greatly enhances local community development.
“The first reports we have from local governments, already clearly show that when we transfer the rights and financial resources, and the responsibility of local authorities greatly increases,” he said.
