Commenting on the idea of placing peacekeepers in the occupied part of Donbass, the special representative reiterated the US position on the necessity of their placement in the “problem area to be effective”, and not only on the demarcation line, as Russia insists.

Walker says that Moscow is “carefully studying” options for the deployment of peacekeepers in the Donbass, and even exhibit some flexibility.

Recall that Walker “can’t imagine” the participation of Russia in the peacekeeping mission in the Donbas. On the question whether the participation of Russians as peacekeepers in the Donbass, Walker replied: “I can’t imagine.”

According to the MP, for Walker it is critical that the peacekeeping mission was militarized, not just monitoring, and acted on the section of the Ukrainian-Russian border, natkonal Ukraine.

In addition, it expects that by the end of the year will be ready to UN security Council resolution regarding a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, and perhaps even adopted. He noted that critical to the resolution is the issue of control over Ukrainian-Russian border.
