The Bank will provide 150 million euros for the reconstruction of the railway in the South of Ukraine
The European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) decided to provide a loan of 150 million euros to upgrade the railway in the South of Ukraine.
About it reports Agency “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the senior Advisor of the EBRD Anton Usov.
The money will go to the electrification of the railway line with a length of 253 km Dolinskaya – Nikolayev – Kolosovka, as well as for laying the second track to single-track sections.

“The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency of railway operations and throughput ports of Odessa region and the hinterland” – explain in Bank.
The borrower is the Ukrzaliznytsia. The loan is divided into two tranches. First – in the amount of 124.5 million euros will be spent on the electrification and installation of second track and construction of the transmission line on the section of the railway line Dolinskaya – Nikolaev (148 km). The second tranche amounting to 25.5 million euros is intended for the electrification of the section Mykolaiv – Kolosivka (105 km).
The total project cost is estimated at 367,9 million euros.
