The agreed ceasefire in the Donbas is still there. Chronicle of the ATO

For 26 December in the area ATO in the Donbas the militants four times opened fire on positions of Ukrainian soldiers.

“Despite the Minsk agreements on the Christmas truce, the Russian occupation troops did not stop shelling positions of the Armed forces of Ukraine”, – stated in the press center of staff ATO.

On Lugansk the direction fighters more than an hour fired on Ukrainian defensive fortifications of the 82-mm mortars, different types of grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft installations near Luhansk. In the area Novoluganskogo and Gold intensified the snipers, who fired at strong points of the Ukrainian army.

On the Donetsk direction in the afternoon with small arms, the militants violated the ceasefire near the mine Butovka.

“Ukrainian soldiers return fire was not opened. Units of the Armed forces of Ukraine ensure the implementation of all steps to maintain the ceasefire on the contact line of the parties and strictly adhere to the Minsk agreements”, – noted in the press center of staff ATO.

Recall, tomorrow, December 27, the planned exchange of hostages. According to preliminary agreements, 74 citizens of Ukraine exchanged for 306 of detained terrorists and Russian military personnel. According to first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko, now occupants hold more than 160 of our fellow citizens. But for half a year of negotiations, the rebels confirmed only 97. The rest will have to look further.
