Cabinet appointed Deputy Suprun

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decree on appointment to the post of Deputy Minister of health of Ukraine on issues of European integration Olga Stefanishina.

As noted, the new Deputy Minister will be responsible for the direction of European integration and procurement of medicines. Besides Stefanyshyna will continue to work to expand access to treatment through the coordination and reform of the public procurement of medicines. Another priority will be the implementation of Ukraine’s key commitments in the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU.

“Olga Stefanyshyna more than 10 years of experience in the advocacy of patients’ rights. She is co-founder and 2011 Executive Director of charitable Foundation “Patients of Ukraine”, which unites people with different diseases in the fight for the right to life-saving treatment. Olga is the co-author of the law on the transfer of state procurement of medicines international specialized organizations. This reform law helped to eliminate corruption from public procurement system of medicines and Ukraine annually saves up to 40% of the state budget”, – said in the Ministry.

Separately noted that one of the achievements of the Foundation is the creation of an electronic platform “ª LCI”, where each patient can see the availability of medicines in hospitals, an important step towards the development of e-health systems.

Note, from 2007 to 2011 she was Director of policy and advocacy, all-Ukrainian network of PLWH, from 2004 to 2006 he worked at the National Committee of the red cross Society of Ukraine, coordinated the MATRA project “Reintegration of homeless women in Kiev: the integrated approach at the local level” in the Main Department of social protection of the population of Kiev.
