The Verkhovna Rada has not supported the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia
People’s deputies of Ukraine did not support the amendment of the severance of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
Rejection of the amendments took place in the context of consideration of the bill on state sovereignty over the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
The initiative belonged to Taras Batenko, and other deputies of the party “DILL”. Its essence was to oblige the Cabinet of Ministers within three months from the date of entry of this law into force, to break off diplomatic relations with the country-aggressor and to withdraw diplomatic missions from the territory of the Russian Federation. This initiative was supported by 72 deputies of the 226 minimum required.
