Almost half of the unemployed Ukrainians with higher education

Every second of officially registered unemployed in Ukraine, has higher education. At the same time in the Kharkov of the most – as much as 87%.

This was during a press conference said acting head of the State employment service Valery Yaroshenko, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“On the account in service for about 45% of Ukrainians have higher education. In large cities such as Kiev, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, this indicator is above 80%. In Kharkov 87% of unemployed people registered with higher education. This suggests that the majority of vacancies for the trade unionists, and those who are looking for work, higher education, and this imbalance does not allow for quick employment,” – said Yaroshenko.

In Ukraine about 80% of secondary school graduates go to universities and only 20% receive vocational education.

“In Europe, the situation has reversed: 70% receive the qualification of “worker tools” and 30% – higher education,” – said Yaroshenko.

Last year the number of vacancies in the civil service employment amounted to 100 thousand. Last year was 30 thousand.

“We changed the regulations of the employment centers. When a person comes for help with unemployment, our receptionist offers jobs. With this introduction we are able to quickly employ about 45% of those who come to us. We have introduced an electronic queue, online interview, video resume, which we send to employers, video companies, hot line,” – said Yaroshenko about innovations.

The employment service also spoke about the average salary in Kyiv and the regions.
