In Ukraine one-third increase in the debts on payment of wages

In December 2017 payroll debts of the Ukrainian employers to employees decreased by 8.3%. However, over the past year the indicator has grown on 32,2% – to 2 billion 368 million.

Such data are cited by the state statistics service, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

The debts of economically active enterprises in December decreased by 12.7% and as at 1 January of the current year amounted to 1 billion 272 million UAH.

More than three-quarters of the amount of debt of economically active enterprises accounted for the industry (79,9%). With almost half the amount of debt generated in the Donetsk (29,8%) and Luhansk (17,3%) regions.

In December 2017, the arrears of wages increased in the field of information and telecommunications – by 41.1% (9,163 million), wholesale and retail trade – 25.1% (22,304 million), operations with real estate – 3.5% (49,052 million UAH).

This reduction of wage arrears was observed in the sphere of temporary accommodation and catering – by 71.9% (1,171 million UAH), health care – 66.7% (14,738 million UAH), education – 65.2% (up to 4,464 million UAH), in the arts, sports, entertainment and recreation – by 50.8% (to UAH 1,665 million) and public administration and defence, compulsory social security – 22% (up to 4,854 million UAH), transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities – 9.5% (to 179,794 million UAH), financial and insurance activities – by 8.9% (to 15.9 million), professional, scientific and technical activities – 8.6% (107,226 million UAH), industry – by 7.2% (to 1,844 billion), activities in the field of administrative and support services – 5.5% (up to 9,135 million), agriculture – by 3.5% (10,816 million UAH), construction – 2.3% (88,159 million UAH).

In the state statistics service has also estimated, experts which sectors have the highest salaries.
