The court has explained why it has released a suspect in the wounding of a police officer and former fighter of “Donbass”
Shevchenko district court of Kyiv has released on bail a suspect in the wounding of a police officer and former fighter of the battalion “Donbass” Alexander Fedorchenko, given his social status and reputation of the defender of the interests of the state.
About it on February 19 reports a press-service of the court.
“In making this decision the investigating judge considered the identity of the suspect Fedorchenko A. M., his social status, the presence of strong social ties, as well as his reputation as a defender of national interests of the state”, – stated in the message.
The court noted that a good reputation Fedorchenko show in particular the certificate on awarding the medal “For valiant service”, signed by the President of Ukraine, a positive response from the Chairman of the Board of the public organization “citizen Corps Volunteer Battalions” and the characterization of the Deputy of the Irpin city Council, “which show the suspect as a Patriotic, responsible and honest man.”
Also investigating judge called trust statements of people’s deputies about taking on bail of the suspect.
The court considers that taking into custody Fedorchenko would be too “harsh and unreasonable” penalty because it does not match the degree of risk in criminal proceedings, given in the petition of the investigator”.
Also take into account that Fedorchenko is dependent on two minor children, has repeatedly been injured during military service, he was awarded a commemorative badge “Ilovaysk-2014”, a breastplate “For distinguished service”, medal “Defender of Fatherland”.
