“I never said that”: EU Ambassador denied the words of the “idiots” who don’t see the reforms in Ukraine

The head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said that did not say that “only an idiot does not notice reforms“.

He said this at the 14th investment conference organized by Dragon Capital investment company, reports “European true”.

“I want to say that my quote about the idiots who do not see reforms, not true. I did not say that. Most likely, my words were freely translated from the diplomatic language,” said Mingarelli.

In turn, the EU Ambassador didn’t argue with the mark of a success in carrying out reforms in Ukraine.

“The question is, what do you have to accelerate significantly. Reforms need to move faster to prove to young Ukrainians that they have a future in Ukraine”,- he added.

Recall that the EU closes the project of modernization of border checkpoints with Ukraine. According to media reports, obtained from the internal correspondence of the government of Ukraine and the correspondence between the European Commission and the Ukrainian authorities, the project was closed after a series of delays, mistakes and cost overruns with the participation of local officials and contractors.
