The Fund want gas prices, including tariffs for households were determined by the market.

The international monetary Fund said that Ukraine must fulfill promises concerning price coordination on the gas market in the framework of the program of crediting. About it reports Reuters.

The IMF reminds that in 2016 Ukraine agreed to settle the price of gas at external market rates, but the government’s failure to implement decisions froze lending from the Fund after the last two tranches in April 2017.

“We believe that it is important that gas prices, including tariffs for households were determined by the market accordingly to the reforms that were implemented in 2016, and that was one of the main achievements of the reform process in Ukraine in recent years”, – said the representative of the IMF in Ukraine Jost Longman.

It is also noted that on the background of upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine collapses reforms supported by the Fund. It is noted that the program of the Fund ends in March 2019.

At the same time, from April of the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” will increase the price of gassupplied to industrial consumers on a prepaid basis. After that, the cost of thousands cubic meters of fuel will make 8,67 thousand, representing a growth of UAH 774 (9.8% of current prices).
