As noted, Poroshenko urged the us side to take a more active involvement on the issue of releasing Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russian prisons, and the Ukrainian hostages, and also thanked the American side for the strong and decisive support in the fight against Russian aggression, stressing the importance of providing Ukraine with military assistance Washington.

“The emphasis on the responsibility of Russia for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements and, therefore, the need of extension of sanctions against Russia to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea”, – said the press service of the Ukrainian President.

In addition, the parties have coordinated actions and to counter the construction of the project “Northern stream-2” and discussed the issues of bilateral political contacts and intensification of trade and economic cooperation.

Recall that the Nord Stream 2, the founder and the sole shareholder of which is Gazprom, intends to start construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2” in 2018 and complete it before the end of 2019. The length of the pipeline throughput to 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year should be 1220 kilometres, it will connect the Russian Ust-Luga and German Greifswald, bypassing Ukraine.
