The President speaks about the beginning of a new phase of financial assistance from Europe.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomed the EU’s decision to provide assistance to our state in the amount of one billion euros. Your comment on this event the head of state has placed in Facebook.
“I welcome today’s decision of the EU Council, which paved the way for the implementation of the new program of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, which EU leaders agreed late last year”, – said Poroshenko. “This is an important signal for the member States of the EU on assessing progress on the path of reform and devotion to the continued support of Ukraine”, – he added.

As reported, on 29 may, the Council of the European Union adopted a decision on providing the next macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of one billion euros. In the EC communication States that the money will “support the stabilisation and structural reform programme, complementing the resources provided by IMF and other donors”.

The day of Poroshenko started with a Breakfast with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Emmanuel Macron in the ancient town hall of Aachen. Poroshenko told reporters that they had discussed sanctions against Russia and the violation of silence regime in Eastern Ukraine. After the meeting Poroshenko joined the ceremony of the Charlemagne prize award.
