During the month the index rose 1.3%.
International reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine in April grew by 1.3% to 18.4 billion dollars.
“In April the balance of payments closed with a surplus of 290 million U.S. dollars. Thanks to the international reserves for the month rose 1.3% to 18.4 billion U.S. dollars as of the end of April, which provided a 3.3 months of imports of future period” – stated in the NBU.
The regulator also estimated that “in April, the growth of currency outside banks slowed down (up to 23 million U.S. dollars) against the backdrop of increasing net sales by the population of currency. From the beginning, the growth of cash outside banks amounted to 208 million dollars. Overall, in January-April the inflows on the financial account amounted to 222 million U.S. dollars.”
Earlier it was reported that the gold reserves of the NBU for the last three years rose in 3,5 times.
