The suspect in the mass murder of animals sent under house arrest.
The Kyiv court of appeals replaced the suspect in the murder of thousands of homeless animals the dog hunter Alexei Svyatogor detention-house arrest.
About it reported in a press-service of the court.
“By results of appeal consideration of the appeal filed by the defense in the interests of the suspect of Svyatogor A., granted in part, the decision of the investigative judge of the Shevchenko district court of Kyiv from 11 June 2018 cancelled and a new decreed that the petition of the investigator of the Shevchenkivsky police Department of the Main Directorate of the National police in the city of Kiev partially satisfied – the suspect applied to the band AA a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest with a ban around the clock to leave his place of residence and assigned to the suspect’s obligations, under part 5 article 194 of the Criminal procedure code of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
Recall the name of the dog hunter Alexei Svyatogor has long been known to the Kiev animal rights activists. The man leading the propaganda of cruelty to animals, poisoned dogs and wrote about it in social networks.
Criminal proceedings against the band opened after his performances in television shows and publications. The consequence considers that the actions of men fall under the heading of promoting violence.
On 11 June, the court granted the prosecution’s request and decided to keep the suspect in custody. The arrest was set at 60 days. The verdict was favorably received by activists, and the moment when Svyatogor hands handcuffed, people were greeted with a standing ovation – cheers, noise in the palm of your hand and chant: “Thank you”.
