Almost all imports come from Russia and Belarus.

Ukraine imposed quotas on imported sulfuric acid and oleum (acid). Almost 100% import of these substances is in Russia and Belarus.

The decision on introduction of quotas on 2 July adopted the Interagency Commission for international trade.

“To protect domestic producers from growing imports has been used special measures concerning import to Ukraine of sulfuric acid and oleum, regardless of country of origin and export, in the form of import quotas to Ukraine for a period of 3 years”, – stated in the message of Ministry of economic development and trade.

Ukraine has carried out anti-dumping investigation against imports of sulfuric acid and oleum, regardless of country of origin, and antidumping investigation concerning import to Ukraine of some urea-formaldehyde products originating from the Russian Federation.

“By results of consideration of materials, it was found that there is a need for protective measures. The interdepartmental international trade Commission weighed the views of all stakeholders, in particular producers and Ukrainian consumers”, – stated in the message.

To protect domestic producers of urea-formaldehyde resin from unfair imports, the Commission adopted a decision which applied the definitive anti-dumping measures concerning imports into Ukraine originating from the Russian Federation at the rate of anti-dumping duties in the amount of 39,94% for a period of five years.

At the same time, the Commission started anti-dumping investigation on alleged unfair imports to Ukraine of bars of carbon steel and other alloy steel originating from Belarus, and Moldova, cement from Russia, Belarus, and Moldova.
