Ukrainian leaders congratulated the military on their professional holiday.

The fleet Military-naval forces of Armed forces of Ukraine will add new combat units, particularly patrol boats from the US partners.

This was stated by the Minister of defence, army General Stepan Poltorak during the ceremony dedicated to the Day of Navy of Ukraine, in Odessa.

“In 2018, the Navy will receive combat capabilities, a command marine forces command marine corps, we must complete the formation of the second marine brigade. This year, except for those boats that have just entered the combat strength, we are expecting to receive patrol boats from our partners in the United States,” he said.

According to Poltorak, also this year should be completed the construction of assault boats, to extend the work on the construction of the Corvette, as well as for the development and construction of armored artillery boats.

“2018 will be a difficult year for the Navy, as for the whole security sector and defense of the Armed forces of Ukraine. All together we have put forward ambitious goals – accession to the European Union and NATO. At the same time, Oleksandr Turchynov except the greeting recalled the history of the Ukrainian fleet.
