The meeting will take place in Berlin at the end of the week.
Russia wants to raise the issue of the referendum in the Donbass at the meeting of political Directors of the countries “Norman Quartet” (Ukraine, France, Germany, Russia), which will be held later this week in Berlin.
This was stated by state Secretary – Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Grigory Karasin, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“At the end of this week, to be held at the level of political Directors of the countries “Norman four” meeting in Berlin, where there will be a conversation about how we progress in implementing the Minsk agreements. There we will talk,” he said, commenting on the Kremlin’s position regarding the possibility of holding a referendum in the Donbas.
Political Director Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Alexey Makeev confirmed the meeting “Norman Quartet” in Berlin.
“Yes, we plan such a meeting at the end of the week,” – he said “Interfax-Ukraine”.

Earlier media reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin told Russian diplomats that he invited the President of the United States Donald Trump to hold a referendum in the Donbas. The proposal is to hold a referendum in the occupied territories of Donbas under international auspices, during which local residents need to speak on the status of those territories. Trump allegedly asked Putin to discuss the idea during a press conference after the Helsinki meeting to give him time to think.
