Disagreements between Ukraine and Russia could not be overcome.
Berlin hosted a meeting of political Directors of foreign Ministers “channel four”. This reports the press service of the foreign Ministry of Germany. The theme of the talks on Thursday, July 26, was the implementation of the Minsk agreements, in particular the role of the UN in resolving the conflict in the Donbas.
The German foreign Ministry stressed that the initiative of deploying the peacekeeping mission in the Donbas was originally proposed by Ukraine, and “Russia has demonstrated openness” of this idea. “However, still no consensus about a clear mandate, and locations of possible UN mission,” – said in a German Ministry.

Ukraine, France and Germany were represented by political Directors of the foreign ministries of each country: Alexey Makeev, Nicolas de Riviere and Antje Leendertse. Russia was represented by Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine discussion regarding a peacekeeping mission called “substantive”. “Despite the existence of significant differences with the Russian side, (…) agreed to continue the work”, – said the Ukrainian Ministry. And reminded of the requirement of Kiev that the mission’s mandate should be extended to the entire territory of the conflict, including the border with Russia.
Karasin, in turn, described the talks as “intense” and “somewhere hot.” The theme of the peacekeeping mission, in his opinion, is “difficult”. Moscow’s position, according to Karasin outlined in proposed in September last year the resolutions of the UN security Council.
