The ambassadors of the countries “Big seven” urged an end to the transport blockade of Donbass
The ambassadors of the countries “the Big seven” (UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, France and Japan) called for an end to the blockade in the Donbass.
This is stated in the statement released by the press service of the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
The statement said that the blockade of coal supplies from the uncontrolled areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk region threatens the energy security of millions of citizens. Ambassadors of the “Big seven” urged activists to unblock the railway tracks and highways to conduct legal trade.
Ambassadors urged the Ukrainian government to modernize the factories and to undertake the necessary reforms to ensure long-term energy security of the country.

Diplomats stressed the need for Ukrainian authorities to ensure a transparent and legal supply chain of energy resources and to strengthen confidence in companies that the utilities are operated for the benefit of society.
Recall, February 15, at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision to introduce the emergency state in the electricity market. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman again condemned the blocking of the supply of anthracite coal from the occupied territories.
Groisman also urged the participants of the blockade to remove it because it threatens Ukraine’s energy security.
Later it became known that the government order about entering of emergency state in the electricity market may not last more than two months. “The order will operate during the month. It can be once extended for a month. That is, not more than two months this order works. And no more”, – assured the Minister Nasalik.
The EU called for an immediate end to the blockade in the Donbass. It is noted that this blockage can cause the energy crisis that will harm the citizens of Ukraine on both sides of the demarcation line.
