In Ukrainian banks “dead” loans amounted to almost 600 billion hryvnia
Ukrainians and businesses did not return on time to banks loans to 594 billion 999 million. 15 billion 766 million (3.5%) more than it was on March 1 of last year.
Such data are the national Bank, UNIAN. Non-performing loans are those on which are recorded the default – late payment for the asset is more than 90 days (30 for banks-debtors) or low probability of timely repayment of a debt without collection of collateral.
The regulator notes that despite an increase in the volume of non-performing loans, their share in the corresponding period has decreased on 1,36% – to 54.54% at the beginning of 2018.
The total amount of loans at 1 January amounted to 1 trillion 91 billion UAH 54 billion 716 million (6.6%) more than March 1, 2017.
Recall, the assets of operating banks of Ukraine, without regard to insolvent financial institutions, in January-November 2017 increased by 2.1% – up to 1 trillion 283 billion. As of December 1, the number of operating banks in Ukraine that are licensed to conduct banking activities, amounted to 86, including 38 banks with foreign capital.
