The organizers of the gang were citizens of the Russian Federation and Lithuania.
In Kiev employees of postal and telecommunications held a large-scale special operation and exposed an illegal network of online casinos.
This was announced by acting head of national police – the chief of criminal police of Ukraine Vadym Troyan on his page in Facebook.
“In one of the office buildings in Kiev attackers have developed large-scale underground business, which had attracted about 120 employees – IT professionals, developers online games, web designers, administrators, gambling web resources, and the financiers were not even aware that they are working on fraud”, – stated in the message.

As it turned out, the criminals engaged in the creation, administration and operation of 18 illegal online casino, popular in Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Also law enforcement authorities found that only the composition of the group included 20 people, and the organizers of the gang were citizens of the Russian Federation and Lithuania.
“Getting super-profits from crime, attackers spent on buying precious jewelry, firearms, and drugs, which police seized during the search,” added the police.
Besides, swindlers have seized 2.5 million UAH in cash, unregistered pistol and 145 rounds of ammunition, as well as the documentation and other evidence of illegal activity.
In addition to organizing illegal online casinos, the attackers also have developed the criminal scheme of acquiring citizenship of Ukraine, through which several of them managed to obtain a Ukrainian passport.
Currently, the main figures detained, under scrutiny. Total in operation to neutralize OPG was attended by almost 80 members of the National police and prosecutors, and special agents of the cyber police and the CORD.
