There are two key conditions for the allocation of funds.

The lifting of the moratorium on the export of roundwood, introduced in 2015 for a period of 10 years, and the organization of payments to displaced persons are key conditions for the allocation to Ukraine the second tranche from the EU in the amount of 600 million euros.

This was stated by the head of the EU delegation in Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli, writes UNIAN.

“As you may remember, the European Union approved macro-financial assistance program to Ukraine of 1.8 billion euros. The first tranche of € 600 million we have already allocated, and now we are talking about the second tranche of 600 million euros. There are two key conditions for the allocation of funds: the lifting of the moratorium on the export of timber, as well as addressing the issue of payments to internally displaced persons,” – said Mingarelli.

The head of the EU delegation to Ukraine noted that the authorities of the Union and Ukraine are in the process of negotiations on the issue of the tranche. According to Mingarelli, the parties must “reach a decision” in the near future.

Recall that the international monetary Fund proposed to Ukraine new conditions for receipt of the fourth tranche , and published the new text of the Memorandum of cooperation. Ukraine plans before the end of 2016 to get another tranche of USD 1.3 billion. the IMF EFF program. For this the country needs to carry out pension reform, optimize the system of payment of housing subsidies and to develop a mechanism to increase tariffs for gas and heating – all of these conditions are contained in the updated version of the Memorandum of cooperation with the IMF.
