The President of Ukraine announced that 2 thousand 533 soldiers were killed, defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
This was stated by the President after the ceremony of taking a solemn oath of the students of Kyiv military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun on the Day of defender of Ukraine.
“2 thousand 533 soldiers were killed defending Ukraine from Russian aggression”, – said the leader of the country and asked the audience and TV viewers to honor the memory of fallen heroes with a minute of silence.

Recall that, according to Petro Poroshenko, in order to resist Russian aggression and to develop APU, the army and the sector of the security forces is necessary to allocate 5% of GDP.
“If we want to survive as a nation, as a people, as a state, we have to spend on the Armed forces and security 5% of GDP – as it is not burdensome and hard to budget, the economy and social sphere. If you look at these costs in the global prices of weapons and equipment; if you compare our military budget with similar costs in other countries, it is obvious that we have a limited and very modest financial resources, ” – said the President.
