Poroshenko in Brussels to talk about sanctions for Russia and accelerate bezveza for Ukraine

The head of the Ukrainian state will meet with Tusk and Stoltenberg.
20 Oct 2016 President Petro Poroshenko will pay a visit to Brussels where he will hold a series of meetings with the leadership of the European Union.
This is stated on the website of the President.
The leaders of Ukraine and the EU institutions will discuss the development of the situation in the Donbas and Crimea, the status of implementation of the Minsk agreements and the prospects of the sanctions regime against Russia in response to its aggression against Ukraine. The participants will also discuss progress in the implementation of reforms and ways of increasing support from the EU and will coordinate further steps for the ratification of the Association Agreement and visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
Poroshenko will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Also scheduled the meeting of President of Ukraine with leaders of individual member States of the EU on the eve of the EU summit on 20-21 October in Brussels.

This was announced by the European Council.
As noted, the meeting was cancelled due to negotiations of heads of state in the Normandy format on October 19 in Berlin. The leaders of the “Norman format” will encourage Russia to perform a safe part of the Minsk agreements.
In turn, the Ukrainian President said that we should not exaggerate the expectations from the meeting of the leaders of the “Normandy format”.
