Today, October 24, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has introduced to the staff the new chief of the defence intelligence of Ukraine major General Vasily Burba.

This is stated in the press center of the President.

According to Poroshenko, over the past two years has significantly improved intelligence. The President stressed that also drastically changed the quality of the information provided by the scouts.

“There is no doubt that this appointment will give new impetus to the activities of military intelligence of Ukraine”, – said Poroshenko.

The head of state noted the importance of activating the work of intelligence officers to ensure effective operation of the Ukrainian military and our diplomats.

Poroshenko also presented state awards to employees of the Main intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defense for bravery, heroism in the defense of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

It is noted that the 38-year-old Vasily Burba graduated from the National Academy of security Service of Ukraine on a speciality the lawyer. For a long time worked in the security Service of Ukraine. Is the participant of military operations (ATO).

By the decree of the President of Ukraine of October 15, 2016 appointed chief of the Main intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine.

It is worth noting that on October 15, Poroshenko dismissed Valery Kondratyuk from the post of head of the Main intelligence Directorate of the defense Ministry and appointed him Deputy head of his Administration. During 2014/15 Kondratyuk was the head of the counterintelligence Department of the security Service of Ukraine.
