The head of state calls on the EU to accelerate the fulfillment of the promises.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomed the decision by the ambassadors of the European Union to approve the granting of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians. The head of state reported on its Twitter page.

The President also noted that the approval process should be completed as quickly as possible. “I urge the EU to complete the process of granting a visa-free regime for Ukraine without further delay and to fulfil their obligations”, – said Poroshenko.

As reported, the EU gave conditional consent to a visa-free regime with Ukraine. So, EU ambassadors have given the green light to the EU Council to start negotiations with the European Parliament on bezveza in Ukraine. However, there are still three important steps: first, the EU should introduce a cancellation mechanism bezveza, then a visa-free regime must be approved by the European Parliament, which is likely to happen in mid-December, and then it needs to adopt the EU Council.
