According to the President, Ukraine has strong support in the U.S. Congress.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed by telephone the question of the annexation of Crimea and aggression in the Donbass with his American counterpart Donald trump.

This was the Ukrainian President said during a press conference after the summit Ukraine-EU.

“The issue of Russian aggression, illegal aggression of Crimea was raised by the elected President of the trump during a conversation with me,” he said.

At the same time the head of state has not released the details of her conversation with an American colleague, however, noted that he had provided him with “very detailed information” about the situation in Crimea and the Donbass.

“Ukraine has strong bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress”, – said Poroshenko, adding that it will continue.

In turn, the head of the European Council Donald Tusk added that he also spoke with trump about Ukraine and said that the reaction of the President of the United States was “at least promising compared to some of the statements during the election campaign.”

We will remind that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko may meet with the elected President of the United States Donald trump in February 2017, immediately after his inauguration on January 20.
