Deprived of the title of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych is a suspect in the episode about the murder of 48 people 20 February 2014 in Kiev during the Maidan, but not in the “berkutovets”, and in another production, so in this case, to interrogate him only as a witness.
This is stated in the statement of lawyers of families of Heaven hundred, which was published on the page of the Bar Advisory group in Facebook.
“The prosecution five Berkut officers in the killings of 48 people Feb 20, 2014 at Instytutska street have already been considered Svyatoshinsky regional court. In this process it is in this court cannot be other defendants. Himself Yanukovych is a suspect in this episode of in other industries. Even if tomorrow he will appear in Ukraine in the process against five Berkut officers he cannot be accused, otherwise you’ll have to consider the case again. So to question him is only as a witness,” – say the advocates.
Also according to the code of criminal procedure, the witness must give free readings, then answer the questions of defenders, defendants, prosecutors, victims, their representatives and the court.
“The witness is criminally responsible for perjury and refusal to testify. The failure of the questioning by the defense or a witness after the “free” readings is actually a refusal to testify. The failure of the interrogation of a witness or party of the Russian Federation – from different “technical” or “organizational” reasons will be the same,” the defense said.

The court even during the last meeting extended the period of detention all accused of “Berkut” for two months, therefore the statements of the activists, the suspects were planning to release is not true.
Euromaidan SOS and the legal Advisory group urged activists not to block the interrogation, for the establishment of justice in bringing to justice the perpetrators of the crimes against Euromaidan.
