The deputies of the Verkhovna Rada supported a bill that increases excise taxes on alcohol and tobacco

The law was adopted in the first reading.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis and supported the consideration under the abbreviated procedure in the second reading the budget bill No. 5132.
For this decision voted 229 deputies.
The bill proposes to increase the excise tax on alcohol by 20% on wine products and alcoholic beverages to the consumer price index 12%, tobacco – 30% is specific and 3 percentage points (from 12% to 15%) ad valorem.

In addition, the document envisages the introduction of a single rate of excise tax on diesel fuel of 125.5 G per 1000 l instead of a differentiated rate of 125.5 ° and 95°, depending on the sulfur content.
Deputies believe that the increase in excise tax rates will contribute to the approximation of legislation to the European Union and reduce the consumption of harmful goods (alcohol and tobacco).
We will remind, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the minimum retail price of vodka from UAH 55 to UAH 69,78. The corresponding decision was accepted at session of the government. The minimum price for 0.5 liters of vodka of 40 degrees will be 69,78 UAH.
